North Coast Blasting Booth Filter
Modifications
(as suggested by Brian Banna,
slight changes and implementation by Mike Rose)
The above photo shows the exhaust assembly made of PVC pipe.
The white, left hand leg is open, and you cover it partially with duct
tape
to adjust the amount of vaccuum from the booth. The black, right
hand
rubber flexible coupling is used to be able to insert the shop vac
nozzle
into and not have it fall out. Very handy! Note also the
plumber's strap
supporting the whole assembly, which is a bit heavy to just be held
by
the side of the plastic booth.
Another view of the assembly.
Inside the booth, the business end of the filter. The pipe is
stuffed
with green plastic pot scrubber material.
Removed and perched on the edge of the booth for the photo,
you can see the filter stuffing inside the PVC 45 degree elbow.
To the left of that is the removable ABS disk I cut out to fit there,
just drilled holes in it. The loose end is held in place by the
end
of the pipe you can see in the background when the elbow is
hand fitted onto it.
A close up of the glued end of the filter. I attached the disk
on the booth side of the filter with Cyanopoxy (what else?!)
